Cost of Demonitisation - BOB

CLAMING OT / OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES ?

Please place your genuine claims. Just Read........ Considering the present health of banking industry, as usual, IBA may point out staff expenses. One more reason is that all these expenses will be counted as "cost of demonitisation" by Government & hence if its total cost is exorbitant, such expenses may attract scrutiny.

So after closing activities gets over, a special drive is likely to be initiated by the management to check the genuinity of OT claims for both award staff & officers.

Please refer to point 2 of the related circular which clearly indicates that the compensation for late sitting would be for "work in connection with demonitisation activities".

Almost all Officers normally sit beyond office hours. It has been observed that all of them had claimed compensation. So, they may be questioned whether there late sitting was in connection with demonitisation work & if yes they may be asked to explain the nature of work.

Same will be the case of award staff. It has been observed that all 100% award staff of the branches including substaff, sweepers have claimed overtime & that to till 30th December. If such verification drive is initiated only Cashier/s & one operator may be in a position to justify & show that there late sitting was related to demonitisation work.

Moreover, cash figures were already communicated to RO on daily basis. But, the staff members have marked the timings just short of EOD. These timings may not match to the actual workload of demonitisation & hence may not genuinely support such claims.

And most importantly, don't forget in FINACAL timings of every operator & officer is available.

So, if management at the directives of Government decides for verification of all OT & out of pocket expenses claims, those who haven't worked but claimed would easily be caught.

Finally, While claiming it, NEVER FORGET THAT YOU HAD WORKED FOR NATIONAL CAUSE.

This is my personal opinion & a cautionary advice to all my colleagues.
